Lance Says!

It has almost been a month and half that I have been tutoring in the English Corner, and I have never felt 6 six weeks go by so fast before. My favorite part of the English corner is of course all of the people that I have met since I started working there. Working in the English Corner is a great way for me to learn about the island of Taiwan and its people. 

The friends that I have made in the English Corner have brought me all over the wonderful island. The exchange students from Nanjing invited me along with them to Danshui for a great weekend trip. Ricky a Taiwanese student helped me out to get an excellent Asian haircut. The local tutor are of great help when it is the end of a long 8 hour day, and my stomach is the mood for some great Taiwanese food. When I mentioned to one of my students that I was interested in traveling to Cambodia and Thailand for spring break he was generous enough to help me find cheap airplane tickets, and now he is coming along for the trip with me. In this short time English corner has taught me so much about, Taiwanese and Chinese culture and people, Chinese language and even a lot about my own culture and language.
